INTRODUCTION The prevalence of social networking websites raises the question whether such sites should be available as another way to provide notice to a defendant or witness for the purposes of service of process. (1) Defendants and witnesses often attempt to avoid being personally served with a lawsuit or summons. It may be easier and cheaper for plaintiffs to serve them over a social networking site if all other traditional methods of service fail.
